We check IRS public records (the e-Postcard database and BMF extract) to show your organization's recent filing history. This is the same data the IRS uses to determine compliance.

Why does a year show as "Missing"?

A missing year means we couldn't find a filing record in IRS data for that tax period. This could mean the filing wasn't submitted, or in rare cases that it hasn't been processed yet.

What happens if I have missing years?

If you miss 3 consecutive years, the IRS automatically revokes your 501(c)(3) status. Filing for prior years is allowed — you can catch up on up to 3 years at once with Pro990.
